Quality Performance Measurement

One important element of the integrated quality management (Total Quality Management, TQM) is making decisions based on data (facts), and not based on opinions. Data obtained through the measurement of quality performance. Measurement of quality at least will give you two benefits for decision-making, namely: Information about the current status of business performance now and for the identification of performance improvement business.

Implementation of ISO in Enterprises

International Organization for Standardization is an international standard resident entity consisting of representatives from the national standardization bodies every country. At first, the abbreviation of the name of the institution is the IOS, not ISO. So it doesn’t have a ring to it, like most acronyms do. Hence, it’s made an abbreviation. But now more often use ISO abbreviation, as in Greek isos meaning equal. This usage can be seen in the word isometric or isonomi. Founded on February 23, 1947, the ISO sets standards of industrial and commercial world. ISO, which is an international non-profit organization, originally formed to create and introduce international standardization for anything. Standards that should be familiar include the standard type of film photography, the size of a phone card, bank ATM card, the size and thickness of paper and more. In setting a standard they invited representatives from 130 countries members to serve on the Technical Committee (TC), Sub Com

The key role for the success of Six Sigma Implementation

One key innovation of Six Sigma involves the “professionalizing” of quality management functions. Prior to Six Sigma, quality management in practice largely relegated to the production floor and to separate statistics in the quality department. Six Sigma borrows martial arts ranking terminology to define a hierarchy (and career path) that cuts across all business functions. Six Sigma identifies several key roles for successful implementation. • Executive Leadership includes CEO and other members of top management. They are responsible for setting up a vision for Six Sigma implementation. They also empower the other role holders with the freedom and resources to explore new ideas for breakthrough improvements. • Champions are responsible for Six Sigma implementation across the organization in an integrated manner. Executive Leadership draws them from upper management. Champions also act as mentors to Black Belts.

DMADV project methodology

DMADV project methodology, also known as DFSS (“Design For Six Sigma”), has five phases: – Define design goals that are consistent with customer demands and enterprise strategy. – Measure and identify CTQs (characteristics that are Critical To Quality), product capabilities, production process capability, and risks. – Analize to develop and design alternatives, create a high-level design and evaluate design capability to select the best. – Detail design, optimize design, and plan for design verification. This phase may require simulation. – Verify the design, set up pilot project, implement the production process and hand it over to the process owner.

Five stages of the DMAIC methodology

* Define the problem, the customer’s voice, and the specific objectives of the project. * Measure key aspects of the current process and collect relevant data. * Analyze the data to investigate and verify cause-and-effect relationship. Decide what to do, and strive to ensure that all factors have been considered. Finding the root cause of the defect under investigation. * Improve or optimize the current process based on data analysis using techniques such as design of experiments, poka yoke or mistake proofing, and standard work to create a new, future state process. * Control the process of determining the future to ensure that any irregularities have been corrected before they result in defects. Control systems are implemented such as statistical process control, production boards, and visual workplaces and the process is continuously monitored.

Acronym 5s

Increase continuity in any company, especially a company that refers to the system development quality as Japanese companies. 5S acronym has become commonplace and essential in building a work culture that has high productivity and quality. 5S is the acronym I can briefly describe as below. Seiri (Sort) : By explicitly separating the items required from the items that are not needed and then discard those items that are not needed from the workplace. Seiton (Stabilize, Straighten, Set in Order, simplify) : Storing the items required in the workplace right away so easily taken if you want to use. Seiso (Shine, Sweep) : maintain the work area to keep it clean and tidy Seiketsu (standardize) : Standardizing the practice 3S (Seiri, Seiton and Seiso) mentioned above. Shitsuke (Sustain, Self-Discipline) : make the discipline into a habit by following established procedures. There are things that are very important in industry and manufacturing, which is a safety issue. 5S is the concept of b

Continuous Cost Reduction Through 5S

Companies that implement six sigma continuous improvement program start fundamentally through improved housekeeping. The company is using the principles of 5S and 6S in order to create and maintain a workplace orderly, clean, safe and has high performance. 5S allows anyone to separate conditions of normal and abnormal, are the foundation for continuous improvement, zero defects, cost reduction and to create a safe work area and comfortable. 5S is also a systematic approach to improve the work environment, processes and product involving employees on the factory floor or production line 5s actually a coaching culture, and employee performance that are designed to develop a simple self-starting work environment works. This simple jobs ranging from separating items that are not used and are still used. Then clean working environment. Everything was getting used so employees can handle the job regularly and systematically. So that productivity and quality can be guaranteed. Search Fund Acc

Six Sigma Management Strategy

Six Sigma is a business management strategy originally developed by Motorola. In 2009 widely applied in various industrial sectors, though the application is not without controversy. Six Sigma aims to improve the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects (errors) and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes. Realized by using a set of quality management methods, including statistical methods, and creates a special infrastructure of people within the organization (“Black Belts”, “Green Belts”, etc.) who are experts in these methods. Each Six Sigma project carried out within an organization follows a defined sequence of steps and has made a calculation of the target. These targets can be financial (cost reduction or profit increase) or whatever is critical to the customer of the process (cycle time, safety, delivery, etc.).

The use of Software Tools for Reporting Balanced Scorecard

It is important to recognize that the definition of the Balanced Scorecard is not a complex thing – usually no more than about 20 measures spread across a mix of financial and non-financial topics, and easily reported manually (on paper, or use a simple Office software). The process of collecting, reporting, and distributing Balanced Scorecard information can be labor-intensive and prone to procedural matters (eg, making all relevant persons to return information required by the date required). The simplest mechanism to use is to delegate this activity to an individual, and many Balanced Scorecards are reported via ad-hoc methods based on email, phone, and office software.

Integrating Business Management with Balanced Scorecard

Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is a strategic performance management tool – a semi-standard form of the report is structured and supported by proven design methods with automation tools that can be used by managers to monitor the implementation of activities by staff within their control and monitor the consequences arising from this action. Modern Balanced Scorecard thinking has evolved considerably since the initial idea proposed in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, including the performance of the tools of modern management. Balanced Scorecard is significantly improved to be more flexible (in accordance with a range of organizations wider) and more effective (also design methods have evolved which makes it much easier to design and use).

Benchmark As TQM Tools

Benchmark is the process of comparing the performance of business processes and metrics including cost, cycle time, productivity, or other qualities that are widely regarded as the industry standard benchmark or best practice. Basically, Benchmark provides a snapshot of the performance of your business and help you understand where you are in relation to a particular standard. Type of Benchmark • Process benchmarking – start a company that focused on the observation and investigation of business processes with the goal of identifying and observing the best practices from one or more benchmark firms. Activity analysis will be required where the objective is to compare the costs and efficiency; increasingly applied to back-office processes where outsourcing may be a consideration. • Financial benchmarking – financial analysis and comparing the results in an attempt to assess the overall competitiveness and productivity. • Benchmarking from an investor perspective comparisons broaden the

Factors that affect customer perceptions and expectations

Each manufacturer has always expect customer satisfaction in business activity. Because customer satisfaction indicates successful production of any company. However, manufacturers must know the factors that affect customer perceptions and expectations.   1. Needs and desires relating to the perceived customer when he was trying to make a deal with a manufacturer / supplier of the product (the company). If at that time the needs and wishes, hopes or expectations customers will also be high, and vice versa. 2. Past experience (past) when consuming products of the company and its competitors competitors. 3. The experience of friends, where they will tell the quality of the product to be purchased by the customer. This obviously affects the perception of the customer, especially on products that perceived high risk. 4. Communication through advertising and marketing also influences customer perception. People in sales and advertising should not create excessive campaign through customer e

Give Ease to Customers

Customers will be more satisfied if find it easy, convenient, and efficient in getting the product or service. Customers (customers) are all those who demand that we (the business) to meet certain quality standards, therefore, will inevitably impact our performance (our company). Management Companies like LL. Bean, Freefort and Maine in Gasversz Vincent (1997) gives several definitions of customers, ie: – Customers are people who do not depend on us, but we are the ones who depend on them; – The customer is the one who brings us to desire; – No one ever wins an argument collide with customers; – Customer is a very important thing to satisfied;

Emotional Dimension to Approach To Customer

When consumers make a purchase will find a lot of emotional factors. Offered by a strong brand is often the emotional factor. Rationally, BMW is a good car, but feeling more customers to encourage them to buy the car. The same thing happened to Coca-Cola products vs. Pepsi. Emotional dimension is divided into three factors, namely: a. Aesthetics, relates to the shape and color of the product includes the size, proportion and symmetry. b. Self Expressive Value Aspects of self-expressive value is a form of satisfaction that occurs due to the social environment and its surroundings. In the automotive world there are you are what you drive. This expression arises because many people choose a car brand by consideration of how others would see him with the car. In addition to cars, cosmetic products are satisfaction with products influenced by the beliefs and feelings of others around them users .

Service Quality

Service quality depends on three things: systems, technologies, and people. The human factor holds the biggest contribution so that the quality of service is more difficult to imitate than product quality and price. One popular concept of service quality is ServQual. Based on this concept, quality or service quality is believed to have five dimensions: reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and tangible. Taking into account that the service can not see, smell, and touch, the tangible aspect is important as a measure of service. As an illustration, the customer provides a good assessment of an auto repair shop is equipped with advanced equipment. In addition to buildings and equipment, customers will rate the physical appearance of its employees. These dimensions are generally more important for new customers

Product Quality and Customer Satisfaction

Product quality is the first driver of customer satisfaction. Product quality is a global dimension consists of six elements, namely performance, durability, features, reliability, consistency and design. Performance Performance is the most basic dimension associated with the primary function of a product. Consumers will be very disappointed if their expectations are not met on this dimension. Performance on each product varies depending on the functional value that the company promised. For example: for medicinal efficacy, for the food is good taste, for a tape recorder is a clear voice, for the motorcycle is accelerating, for sedan cars is comfort and others.

Drivers of customer satisfaction

Generally, there are five key drivers of customer satisfaction, quality of product, price, service quality, emotional factors, and facility

Customer Role for Future Business Developments

The role of the customer is very important because it deals with the future of the business. So important role of customers so much discussion about the customer produces a variety of terms, such as: customers is a king, the consumer is dynamics, only consumers can fire us all. This prompted Robert S. Kaplan and David P. Norton (1996) include the perspective of “customer” to measure the performance of the company. Unlike traditional measurement concept just based on the health of the financial statements alone, Robert S. Kaplan and David P. Norton in his book “Balanced Scorecard” said that financial measures are not sufficient for guiding and evaluating corporate travel through a competitive environment. Using traditional concept raises lagging indicators, lagging indicators which is causing us not able to capture the value that has been created or destroyed by various actions of managers in the last accounting period. Therefore, Robert S. Kaplan and David P. Norton reviewing the healt

Integration Management in Total Quality Management

The linkage between the quality control or phase with each other, which began in the demand for a particular product until the end on the use of the product by the customer. According EOQC (the European Organization for Quality Control), a modern quality system is a system of activities aimed at providing assurance and evidence that the activity of a total quality control is in fact effective. Modern quality systems include continuous evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of control programs by providing total quality control corrective action where necessary, for certain product-specific, integrated quality control program includes the testing, inspection and evaluation of factors affecting the quality of the specification, production, inspection and use of the product. Modern quality systems in the mind that the implementation of an integrated quality control requires several issues related to the operation of the structural work, effective documentation, and managerial proced

Three Modern Quality Systems

Basically modern quality systems can be divided into three parts: Quality of design It basically refers to the activity that ensures that new products or modified products, in design so as to meet the desires and expectations of customers as well as economically viable to produce or do. Thus quality is the quality of the planned design. It determines the quality of design and product specification is the basis for making decisions related to market segment, the specification of use and after-sales service. Quality of design in general is the responsibility of the Section of Research and Development (R & D), Engineering Process (Process Engineering), Market Research (Market Research) and other parts related. Quality of conformance Refers to the manufacture of products or provision of services that meet predetermined specifications at the design stage. Thus conformance quality indicates the degree to which the products are designed to meet or comply with product specifications. In ge

Quality is a Way of Life

Awareness of quality must be instilled from employees come to work and is continuously carried out in collective awareness in the corporate environment. Every meeting, every briefing and every meeting is always reminded of the importance of quality. Modern quality systems are characterized by the presence of a philosophy that assumes that quality is a “way of life”. The issues of quality are always discussed in management meetings. All employees are given training (training) on the concepts of quality and its methods. Each person in the company voluntarily participate in quality improvement efforts. Thus, modern quality systems are characterized by the presence of corporate culture that implements the process of quality improvement on an ongoing basis.

Activity Oriented Preventive Measures

The concept of building a product with specific qualities, every company has distinct improvement concepts to one another. Damage analysis, production errors and failures in achieving quality in handling addressed differently. Modern quality systems are characterized by the presence of activity-oriented on prevention of damage, rather than focusing on efforts to detect any damage. Quality by inspection alone is not enough and it was too expensive. Although it remains a requirement to make some brief inspections or audits of the final product, but the quality of the company’s efforts should be focused on prevention before the occurrence of damage by carrying out the activity properly and correctly the first time began to carry out an activity. By implementing these principles, quality improvement efforts will be able to reduce production costs.

Understanding Against Specific Responsibilities for Quality.

Modern quality systems are characterized by a lack of understanding of each person the specific responsibility for quality. Although the quality should be the responsibility of each person, but should also note that each person has different responsibilities, depending on its position within the company. Thus the specific responsibilities of the quality need to be known by every person in his position. For example: the people who work in product development is responsible for designing new products that meet customer desires and the consistent attention to economic aspects that can be produced by the production.

Top Management Role in the Process of Quality Improvement

Modern quality systems are characterized by the presence of active participation, led by top management in quality improvement process on an ongoing basis. If the responsibility for quality is delegated to the Department of Quality Assurance Course. Each person in the company will have the perception that the quality is not a key concern. This negatively affects the psychological, where the total and active involvement of the people in the company become less or weaker. Thus, in a modern quality system, each person must be actively involved in the company through a business or support from top management to quality. Many workers want to do a good job, wanted to produce a quality product, to provide a quality service, and want to be proud of what they do, but the “rhythm” to be determined by management as a leader in the company. If the quality is not mentioned in the management agenda, the situation will not motivate workers to provide effort and attention to quality

System of modern quality-oriented customers

The customer is everything to the manufacturer. Therefore, the customer needs is a priority for primary production for the manufacturer and customer satisfaction is achieving the desired quality. These products are designed in accordance with the wishes of customers through a market research, and produced in ways good and right so that the resulting product meets the design specifications, and ultimately provide after-sales service to customers. In a modern quality system, the practice of every department in optimizing operational activities without concern for the needs of other departments within the company can not be accepted or not justified. In a modern quality system, each person must use the concept of systems thinking seriously and really pay attention to enactment of the principle of customer-supplier relationship.

Building a Modern Quality Systems

Traditionally, the product makers usually conduct an inspection of the finished product after the product is made by way of sorting the good products from bad, and then reworked parts of the product was defective. Thus the traditional sense of the concept of quality is only focused on inspection activities to prevent the escape of defective products into the hands of customers. Inspection activity is viewed from the perspective of modern quality systems are in vain, because it does not contribute to the improvement of quality

Management Quality = Continuous Performance Improvement

Basically Quality Management or Total Quality Management, defined as a way to improve performance on an ongoing basis at every level of operation or process, in every era of functional organization, using all the human and capital resources are available. ISO 8402 (Quality Vocabulary) defines quality management as all the activities of the overall management function that determine quality policy, objectives and responsibilities, and implement them through tools such as: • quality planning Is the establishment and development objectives and the need for quality and implementation of quality systems. • Control of quality Are the techniques used and operational activities to meet the quality requirements. • Quality assurance Are all planned and systematic actions that are implemented and demonstrated to provide adequate confidence that a product will satisfy the need for a certain quality. • quality improvement Are the measures taken to improve product value to customers through increase

Dr. Joseph M. Juran in Quality Trilogy Concept

Dr. Joseph M. Juran one of the teachers in the management of quality, very popular with the trilogy concept of quality, namely: quality planning, quality control and quality improvement. Juran views on other major issues related to quality management are: • The cycle should be shortened product development through participatory planning, concurrent engineering, and training for planners in the methods and tools of quality management. • Relationships with suppliers should be repaired. The number of suppliers should be reduced. Sam should have a working relationship based on mutual trust established. Long the contract should be extended so that the long-term relationship. • Training should be results-oriented and not oriented to the appliance. The main goal of training should change the behavior of employees, not just to train or educate only. For example: training in quality improvement should be preceded by an assignment in an improvement project. Training mission should help the team

Term of Q-MATCH

Besides the notion of quality as mentioned previous articles, the quality can also be defined as everything that determines customer satisfaction and efforts to change the direction of continuous improvement so that the technical term is: Q-MATCH (Quality = Meets Agreed Terms and Changes). Based on the definition of quality, both conventional and more strategic, we may state that basically refers to the quality of basic terms: • The quality of the product consists of a number of features, either directly or privilege of attractive features that meet the desires of customers and thereby provide satisfaction for the use of the product. • The quality of everything that is free from deficiencies or damage.

The word quality has many different definitions and varies from the conventional to the more strategic. Conventional definition of quality directly describes the characteristics of a product such as: performance, reliability, easy to use, aesthetics, and so forth. Strategic definition states that quality is everything that is capable of meeting customer needs or desires. Privileges or advantages of the products can be measured through customer satisfaction. This feature not only consists of the characteristics of the products offered, but also the service that accompanies the product, such as marketing, delivery accuracy and others. Privilege directly related to customer satisfaction is obtained directly in consuming products that have superior characteristics such as products without defects, reliability and others. Attractive privileges associated with that customer satisfaction is obtained indirectly by consuming the product. Attractive privilege often gives greater satisfaction to

Total Quality Management, TQM

Many times the companies that successfully develop quality management techniques in order to meet customer demand and manage properly the bias eventually won the competition in the global market. The concept of quality management is every company has its own distinctive character and features but in general will have the same mission and vision From the results of studies on the success of companies world-class industry that has developed the concept of quality within the company, was born the so-called Total Quality Management, TQM. In developing countries leading to the industrial countries need to build a modern quality system and an integrated quality management practices in various areas of life as a “weapon” to win the competition in the global market. Advanced industries in developed countries have implemented the concept of quality is gradually and now has entered a very tight market with a high level of competition. In Japan and in America is a country that can be used a refer

Quality Enhancement for Industry

Any business person who wants to win the competition in the industry will give full attention to quality. Full attention to quality will positively impact the business in two ways, namely: the impact on production costs and the impact on earnings Impact on production costs going through the process of making a product that has the degree of conformance (conformance) to high standards, so free from the damage that may be. Thus attention to the quality of the production process that will produce quality products that is free from damage. That means the inevitable occurrence of waste (waste) and inefficiencies so that the cost of production per unit will be low which in turn would make the product more competitive prices. The impact of increased revenue through increased sales occurs on competitively priced quality products. Quality products that are made through a process of quality will have a number of features that can improve customer satisfaction over the use of the product. Since

The Quality is not the Responsibility of Quality control Experts

A common mistake that companies in terms of quality control inspector is they rely on a meticulous and a team of quality controllers who have high knowledge. The companies that spend money to make a strict supervision system so that none can pass the defective product from the production room. They are also willing to pay dearly for an experienced quality team and experts in quality. Various consultants were brought in the hope of the quality of the product quality can be controlled and made of high quality products on the market. But if the company wants it? Treatment and the establishment of such quality that it feels very stiff and can not be fully implemented in the company. Remember! That the company is moving the people who have varying levels of emotion and cannot be treated with the same pressure. Do-do will be a boomerang for the company itself. The number of workers strike work, it is because the fatigue of workers with the pressures that should be minimized.

Quality Made Collectively

In the modern enterprises, the creation of quality not based on one section quality, or top management, or any inspector. But the creation of quality based on the shared responsibility of the system and the way work is referring to lean manufacturing, in other words the system and the concept of quality is made jointly, through joint meetings and also set major goals and objectives that industry. So that each member has a role in determining company policy. Awareness will be key to the success of the quality of a system of quality control in a company. Consciousness is a collective consciousness of all the member companies that directly relate to the product or not. This awareness will grow if all members of the company was given ample space for expression and creativity as well as a tribute to those who really contributed to the company. Vision and mission must be formulated together especially to do with quality. Determination of goals and objectives of industry short, medium and lon

Eliminating Inspection Activities

Inspections for companies is to be done to ensure the quality as expected. On the other hand is a waste inspection activities should be eliminated in the manufacturing process. Waste which will appear in the inspection process is a waste of labor to be used in the inspection process. From the results of these inspections will produce a good product, the product could still be in the rework and product failure. Impact caused by the presence of inspection activity is the production process is carefully and tend not to pay attention to the creation of good quality, because they think that the output of the products still have to pass inspection. By contrast, if early on they are equipped with self awareness and quality inspection. With the self-inspection has always maintained the quality of the production process.

Inspection is the key to Quality?

Inspection is necessary to ensure the best quality products. Outside the world of industry, such as Bank, government agencies and the like, inspection will determine the performance quality of service to customers. In the world of traditional industry inspection process is the right choice to control the product in good condition. If you want a guaranteed product in accordance with the standards required then each process must have an inspector on duty to observe and select the product defective. If you can rework, returned the previous process, but if outside specifications should be in the exhaust. If there are 100 in the production process then how labor inspector must be provided. How much work to be done to rework? Is not this a waste that should be eliminated.

Quality will Lead to Lower Costs

Quality products are usually expensive. Assumption that the quality synonymous with expensive, is not entirely true. There is a correlation between the high cost of production with high quality. Inspections are layered, with rigorous quality control involves many personnel and control equipment, which is expected to create a product that actually qualified. The cost to support it is not little. How many inspection staff should be deployed, how many control devices should be installed and so on. In the modern enterprises are still many ways to deliver a quality product, with jointly build lean enterprise system and savings in all areas of well-organized and patterned. This is the concept of lean manufacturing is undertaken by international companies and builds a company with a clear vision and sustained. Not only momentary gain, but rather the continuous development of the company’s global market.

Quality is Expensive

Good quality will be paid a great price. For the company’s standards it is a truth. But not for the concept of Deming company. Quality will lead to lower costs. This means that quality can not be paid handsomely. For many manufacturing companies how to deliver the best quality without having to raise prices. One method for forming a good-quality is the way to the concept of lean manufacturing in an enterprise environment. Lean manufacturing is a step to reduce waste at the company, both in the office area, production and warehouse storage. Lean manufacturing activity is accompanied by the maintenance of quality in accordance with the standards required.

The importance of Quality Assurance Role

Production processes that are running will always be controlled by the supervisor, the supervisor in question in terms of input and output production. Member settings, engine optimization, material treatment, implementation of 5s in the production area, the implementation of appropriate work procedures, and implementation of lean manufacturing and lean sigma which has been taught by a team of six sigma. Implementation of lean sigma and lean manufacturing that has the purpose of improving productivity and quality, had to be done by all parties in the company without exception. But there was one more section that plays a role in surveillance, research and continuous quality improvement. Common across the firm, section or department responsible for the quality, the QC (Quality Control) and QA (Quality Assurance).

Deming Chain Reaction In Cost Reduction Program

Deming's Chain Reaction Dr. William Edward Deming, a professor of quality management from the United States put forward a reaction known as Deming’s Chain Reaction. According to Deming, any improvements made by the industry would make the activity of system processes in the industry getting better and better. Quality improvement activities with the overall industry will experience an increase in productivity due to waste and inefficiency is reduced slowly. Customers will benefit from increased productivity by getting more and more products are qualified at the level of cost per unit is declining constantly. If the customer has acknowledged the high quality, trust will be established and released a difficult partner. In addition it will tell customers at competitive prices and quality products to someone else / another prospect, so the demand for products will increase. This will ultimately expand the market share. If the industry remains consistent in its business, it will increase

Eliminate waste to increase profits

Company’s commitment to increase value added products and commitment to provide high quality products and compete in global markets into a separate test for the perpetrators of manufacturing. When an industrial company has a high commitment of the management is continuously and sustainably will experience real results. This is indicated by a continuous reduction in waste costs by marked decreases in total quality and managed to improve customer satisfaction continuously. In these conditions the company can be said will generate higher profits. You can prefer electronic waste disposal as well which will be more profitable.

Maintain Competitive Prices and Profit Margins Together

companies complain of rising world oil, which will indirectly affect the cost of production and higher selling prices. Even if the selling price fixed, meaning thin profit margins, even if the company is not careful in the calculations, can be said to lose. Condition that forces management to think hard to survive. If the price is raised, it does not compete with other competitors and if it is not raised then the company will lose money. How appropriate action to address this kind of problem? One is the continuous cost reduction just as discussed earlier. Continuous improvement efforts will greatly help to reduce the company’s losses. Any quality improvement efforts will eliminate or reduce the waste that exists in the relevant industry system, so the price per unit will automatically be reduced.

Continuous Cost Reduction Program (CCRP)

Continuous Cost Reduction Program (CCRP) is a program organized systematically to improve the quality and productivity of industry through the reduction and elimination of waste continuously for all activities that occur and the system involved in the industry. The main objective of this program is to increase the competitiveness of products in the market both in terms of quality, price competition and customer satisfaction levels. Each company has different conditions in dealing with quality issues. Opportunities and the chance to develop cost reduction program will constantly vary from one company to another. It depends on the specifics of the industry itself. For the activists and the movers of this program should really understand the condition of the company they work for. So the concept is made in accordance with the vision and mission in terms of quality.

Lean Thinking

The advantages of the concept of Lean thinking in its application in the industry is focused on the reduction of waste where the waste itself is one of the inhibitors increased performance than that of lean sigma also aims to minimize the variation of the product which is also an obstacle to improved corporate performance. Tools used to improve the quality of the concept of Lean is the Big Picture Mapping, Regression, Root Cause Analysis and to compare the results of the identification of the cause of the failure by the method of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Failure Mode method of Multi Attribute Analysis (MAFMA). The purpose of the research quality of the company is to :: A. Identify waste and find out that most often occurs in the production process. 2. Identify and find the cause of waste that affect product quality. 3. Identify and compare the results of the causes of potential failures, the FMEA method and the method MAFMA. 4. Provide recommendations for improvement

Qualified Human Resources

Implementation of lean six sigma enterprise system cannot run properly if it is not supported by reliable human resources. Reliable in the sense that translate the concepts of lean sigma and are able to apply in practice in accordance with their respective job description. Changes in the manufacturing world are so fast, both the level of competition and market trend of absorbed products, imposes manufacturer must organize them to face global competition. For human resource development to be conducted. To create a reliable system of human resources and proven methods are needed that perfectly structured, ranging from recruitment and training system-provided training. The first thing done is an ongoing survey of the condition of the company’s internal and external conditions in the company. This is done for the proper formation in accordance with market needs.

Performance Analysis of Six Sigma Project

Lean Six Sigma training in an integrated, systematic and sustained will be the fundamentals of business leadership skills that are useful in the development of professional management, so as to build a corporate organization that refers to the concept of corporate professionalism and efficiency in all areas. To measure the success of six sigma project requires a special study. Project a professional handling not only execute the project and its maintenance, but also must provide evaluation tools to determine the level of success of the project has been launched. Broadly speaking, the analysis of performance management relating to the implementation of six-sigma focuses on two important aspects, the aspects of knowledge management to the principles of lean sigma and management aspects of motivation and commitment to implement them.

Lead and Sponsoring Efforts Lean Six-sigma

Project will run properly if it is supported by all components of the company concerned. Not only the work of the operator who has a direct relationship with the production process, but from top managers to machine operators, member logistics, cleaning service and all existing members in the company. The concept of lean six-sigma is relatively easy to make, just invite people who are competent, to discuss the project and provide training to member companies and create standards of operation must be done, is enough. But more important is to make lean manufacturing into a culture that for generations there working environment. Collective consciousness is what is expected of each company when it issued an operational standard for lean manufacturing and lean six-sigma.

Continuous Cost Reduction for Global Competition

An industry companies that will succeed are the companies that can win the market competition. Competition in global markets, as now imposed on manufacturers to reduce costs that are considered the company’s financial influence. But more importantly accuracy in capturing the waste management of the company and not realized by the employee and member of the company concerned. Costs in the industry play a very important role in terms of creating competence in inter-industry competition in the global market. Proportion of production costs in general could reach 70% to 90% of the total cost of sales as a whole, thereby reducing production costs will make the selling price set by the manufacturers become more competitive.

Basics of Leadership Skills for Business

With the training conducted on an ongoing basis with topics that are designed in a systematic and focused will make the fundamentals of business leadership that are useful in the practice of professional management, so it will be able to build the organization’s Lean Sigma Enterprise system as a learning organization. Performance management can be monitored continuously and analyzed weaknesses and strengths to make an evaluation of the quality improvement organization, and of course the output of the companies concerned. Analysis of performance management and employees relating to Implementation of lean sigma projects basically focused on two aspects: – Aspects of knowledge management and employees to the principles of lean-sigma – Aspects related to employee motivation and management for continuous improvement with the right methods and right on target.

Basic Principles of Lean-Sigma To Win the Competition

The term lean is an attempt to pass the renewal and reduce the variety of waste in a company to improve the quality of the product or service so that it will be worth more in the eyes of the customer. The basic concept of Lean-Sigma in the end is the lower costs incurred in the activities of the company. In this case the company concentrates identifying costs that should not be excluded. In other words the savings made by emphasizing the good work efficiency is realized by the member firms or not. As known in advance that the implementation of lean manufacturing was first introduced by Taiichi Ohno of Toyota Motor Company, a world-class giant company that is always active and doing improvement innovations in the field of efficiency and product quality. With such conditions the company Toyota to compete in world markets with a quality and competitive price.

Lean Six Sigma Training is a continuous training

Each lean six sigma training has long-term goal, namely to make continuous improvement and sustainable. Six Sigma Training does not stop at training in the classroom, provide examples of improvement, the practice field of the concept has been obtained. But a company with a trainer to come at considerable cost, hoping that there will be significant efficiency to the company’s performance. Keep in mind that to obtain the expected value of efficiency need quite a long time and cannot be achieved instantly. All companies are aware of it, that the point of improvement will be seen when there is a problem. Based on the problem that member companies will be required to complete. Thus the system resolution of the issues that created a unified system of standardization and to solve them. Training to be the mainstay for forming the mindset of employees to respond to problems and have the weapons to finish it.

Lean Training Contains Motivational Messages

Make the training should not just train. Wrapping the training to be more than learning about Lean-Sigma Enterprise System. Emphasis on specific messages that are motivating trainees must be provided. This is important because the training would be more meaningful if the target audience actually doing what is taught in training. If not then the target is a major goal of lean sigma training enterprise will be a transit of people working just a formality. There is no added value to increase labor productivity. Participants of the production machine operator would be very reluctant to follow the training provided. Better job running the machine instead of having the room to listen to lectures from a trainer. Habit of working on all machines will greatly influence the effectiveness of training provided. This has been a subject of importance how, production member could be given more training to enjoy without burdening them. Their training to improve performance and the performance that mig

Lean Sigma Training Methods That Attract

One cause of the effectiveness of the project is a lean six sigma training methods are varied and interesting. It really depends of the training curriculum and delivery by a smart trainer. A highly influential trainer in the delivery of content to the participants, especially the way the trainers are varied and not boring. A trainer must think that the six sigma training is not a burden but something that can be enjoyed and used as an exciting competition and entrenched corporate environment. The use of a combination of various styles and techniques of training to be one way to make training interesting. Several techniques have been developed are face to face. To-face method is usually prone to boredom trainees. In other words, the trainer should be able to manipulate his presentation with exciting things, such as audio visual, dynamic presentations are accompanied by a short film describing the project, the animation is able to arouse interest of participants and so on.

Build Knowledge and Understanding of Lean Sigma Enterprise System

Training materials provided to all member companies must be able to build a culture, knowledge and a thorough understanding of six sigma. And for the delivery of materials and trainer who is experienced trainer should not only of theories in the book but the experience in six sigma enterprise system in practice and indeed had been a six sigma project executor. Thus the participants really feel the atmosphere is exciting and real improvement. Training materials should be interesting and fun, involving all participants contributed to the improvement of the company. Participants were taken to be subject to improvement. And motivate a continuous basis and always provide an understanding that it’s a nice improvement, and someone must have given pride to the improvement.

Actual Examples of the Process Value Stream

To give emphasis and provide training that is really real in accordance with actual conditions, it should involve practical training curriculum and provide real examples in accordance with the conditions of each plant and the company concerned. A trainer, although not from internal companies, before embarking on lean sigma training to learn the condition of the company, whose members will be in training. So that when the training is boring, but it makes the training participants actually involved in the improvement. Trainer of outsourcing that do not understand the real conditions in the company, will make training boring and not even relevant to what happens in the factory. A trainer should know that although the same theory but with different conditions of the treatment of process improvement will be a different object. Best trainer is coming from within the company itself so that it knows the ins and outs of companies, ranging from the character of its workforce, and the treatment

Lean Six Sigma is real training

Lean Sigma is not just training that discusses the theories of efficiency, reduce costs to the company, but lean sigma is real work that must be directly applied in manufacturing activities and manufacturing processes as well as the provision of services. Of the cases that actually occur in companies where training takes place and the improvement with the resources and equipment in the company’s. All must work in a systematic and organized. The cases taken are barriers, waste-waste that is the experience of members who undergo training lean sigma, so that members can feel, and fully understand the real conditions. Improvement applications to be offered and designed the project such as six sigma quality improvement can be directly addressed and tested. Can it be implemented or are in trouble if applicable.

Terms of Lean Six Sigma Training Curriculum

Each management free to lean sigma training curriculum organization on lean sigma enterprise system, the following guidelines can help management to adjust and choose topics that are relevant to lean sigma applied within the organization of training systems. It is important in lean sigma training must meet the following requirements; – True, that learning is a learning enterprise lean sigma real, not theoretical and it is really happening on the ground. – Provide examples of real working environment in accordance with the object of research and improvement. – Materials should be attractive sigma lean and fun, because it should not be training workload, but it is a process of transformation of knowledge and experience that can be applied to the working environment. – Always provide a style of dance training, not just face to face but the interesting exercises for the purpose of improvement – Gives the sense that the training continues, not only provides training and practice improvement

Lean Sigma Enterprise System Training

Knowledge transformation and lean sigma methodology and 5s management requires an effective method to create a system of lean six sigma training in a structured and systematic. All member production should be understood by making a conscious concept of lean manufacturing into their work activities. Top management support is needed to provide human resource commitments. Coaching and lean sigma training is mainly given to groups of people involved in lean sigma projects. Actually, almost all members throughout the process chain is the target trainee should understand the concept of sigma and lean implementation in the work area. Organizations that implement lean sigma is a means of learning organizations must continually acquire new information and new insights from their customers, external environment, and the value stream of each individual product, product group or product line, then use that knowledge to generate ideas new ideas, new products and enhancements, and measure results

Blind Spot indentify areas as waste

Lots of blind spots that are not recognized by the member in the production area. Such as the placement of goods in excess capacity, material buildup beyond the maximum limit given, and WIP are left without handling, work equipment is not in place, the wiring is a mess and so forth. Although it seems simple, but if left unchecked will become a habit and waste make repeated. And will ultimately increase the costs that should not be needed. For example, regular overtime to clean up items that are not used, fix the items that are not neat and so on. Work should be carried out during working hours, the company must pay again to do the work. Lean Six Sigma for process improvement in a six sigma project executor should be able to identify the blind spot in the work areas, especially the unconscious member concerned. This identification should be carried out continuously and there is always a search for sources of waste along the flow processes in the company. Starting from the procurement of

Technology for Total Supply Chain Process Improvement

Many things can be done in order to improve the efficiency of companies, ranging from the supply of raw materials to delivery of goods to the customer. Experts working in the IT sector report on website that such rapid development of technology must be coupled with the application in the enterprise management process, otherwise it will decrease the power of the company because a lot of waste which should be reduced by using information technology system. Utilization of information technology is an effort to make the interface between the department, the section, between supplier companies, between companies and customers, so that decision-making process can be done in a short period of time. Management is proactive in the development of the company should be alert to use existing technology to the company’s efficiency and performance. Implementation of ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning) and supporting software may serve to support lean supply management. By using

Management support in the implementation of LeanSigma

Implementation of Lean-Sigma Enterprise System requires a cross functional management relating to the coordination of activity units (integrated enterprise) for the realized cross-functional goals and policies regarding the dissemination of Lean-Sigma implementation along the value stream. Value Stream is defined as the process to create, produce, and deliver products to market. For the manufacture of goods, value stream includes raw material suppliers, manufacturing and assembly, and distribution network to the user’s goods. For the service (service), value stream consists of suppliers, support personnel and technology, producer services, and service distribution channels. While cross-functional team is defined as a collection of people from various departments who are assigned to specific tasks such as the implementation of new systems, etc.

Progressive Attitude Against Customer

To gain the trust and mutually beneficial cooperation between manufacturer and customer. As the provider of products and production of our implementers should be able to deliver the best products and service to customers. Similarly, the production process, in addition to design and customer demand, we should also actively inquire about the smoothness of the best suppliers of how the process should be done, how a production is going well. In short the customer invited to get involved in the production even though it only asked his advice. And thus the customer feel rewarded and get involved in the production process. Ask for advice customers is of utmost importance to establish cooperation and reduce errors. Lean supply chain is created and focused on the customer, so that the needs and demands of customers should be paramount. Communication between the customer continues in the goal is always to ask and involve the production process to avoid errors caused by miscommunications, between

Mapping Process to Facilitate Supervision

Mapping along the total supply chain process is intended to facilitate the process of controlling and dividing the person-in charge or the person solely responsible for the given area. The mapping is adjusted by the number of existing members. The mapping is adjusted by the number of existing members, then each area formed a team that is responsible for the area / section is. Thereby controlling the activities there will be relatively more easily and cleanly. This mapping will be very useful to reduce the waste caused by either a member or a production machine. Reporting system also must be done regularly and organized, so if there is a problem in one section will be quickly taken a decision. Organizing the company’s process flow will also improve efficiency in the smallest of companies. By increasing the efficiency of each process as a whole will wake up the optimal conditions for the company.

Analysis of the total supply chain process as a whole

Management tasks to be done in developing and improving the quality of products / services is to analyze the total supply chain process as much detail as possible, starting from preparation of raw material supplier level, production and delivery to the customer. Analysis is important is to maintain product quality in order to remain secure in accordance with the requirement. Supervision and treatment of material to be completely in accordance with operating procedures that have been determined. 5S activities became a major cornerstone to ensure product quality. Shipping process, loading and unloading to be a very risky process of decline in the quality of the product.

Error-Proofing Procedure

Working procedures should be designed in such a way as to avoid mistakes, even if the executor is the layman and untrained member. According to Vincent Gaspers in his book “Continuous Cost Reduction through Lean Sigma Approach” Error Proofing Procedure classified into two; The first is a Server Error resulting from the task, treatment or tangible of service – Task errors such as improperly doing activities, doing things that do not need, do not want the customer orders, work activity slowly so as to make the waiting time and other – Treatment errors occur when a customer interacts deng as disrespectful, uncaring, indifferent, and other woods and negative behavior – Tangible errors are matters relating to the physical elements, such as: facilities are not clean, dirty clothes, air conditioning (AC) is not functioning, the mistakes of documents and so on.

Lean Supply Chain Management

The principle of lean is a journey not a destination, so that its implementation is an activity of continuous quality improvement. Lean supply chain management activities should get commitment from top management, because of the support and motivation of leaders will be able to continuously maintain continuity. Build a multi-discipline team, was an important beginning to ensure the execution of other projects can be run with lancer. This multi-discipline team should together be able to understand the company’s problems in general and understand the lean supply chain management.

Balancing Process Cycle Time with Takt Time

Line Balancing to balance Cycle time and Takt Time

Line Balancing for the effectiveness of production

Line balancing is an attempt to balance the input and output of each machine in a series of production processes, to minimize the idle time on all stations for a certain output level. The purpose of line balancing is to obtain a smooth production flow of WIP problems, delays in the process, repair time and so on, so as to achieve a high level of efficiency in terms of manpower, facilities and time required to produce / process the given input. Now there are still a lot of line balancing practices based on traditional approaches that only after balancing the load of each station regardless of the WIP generated. It is quite impossible if the target optimal load flow gain of 100%, in the sense that each process has a perfect balance and have a perfect efficiency.

Lean Sigma thinking in all fields

Changing paradigms and patterns of employees think the company and all of the components is not an easy job. Behavior to make the process of formation of sigma lean into the work culture within a company requires hard work and sustained effort. Hard work requires a strong will and an integrated system starting from the top manager to field employees.. Generally accepted concept of lean sigma regardless of industry and services. All types of companies can be conditioned in the application of lean sigma concept for performance and quality of expected output.

Continue to try and develop techniques to improve the quality

It is to be conducted by the company is constantly looking for techniques and tools to achieve excellence or error-free service called the zero defect This improvement process can be improved continuously and process capability can be measured using the size of the target sigma to six sigma Six sigma thinking needs to be disseminated to all parts regardless of industry type or types of activities. Thus the lean six sigma can be applied to all processes. Lean six sigma is applied in the industry called lean manufacturing, lean sixma while employed in the service industry to be lean sigma service.

Organize all service components

In order informational materials and all activities can be run with a smooth, effective and efficient service throughout the process chain, the components of work that often become obstacles to be overcome, because it can form a negative opinion to the customer. All physical facilities, service procedures, employee behavior, the process steps management service, professional attitude of employees, managers and others are components that must be controlled and well organized. Organizing is an integrated step in laying a solid foundation and commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.

The Seven Waste in Manufacturing and Service Company

Steps in a lean sigma approach in the industry, one of which is to eliminate the waste that occurs throughout the production process. Dissipation that occurs along the process chain services should be identified and removed for a smooth production process. Encountered any small waste must be immediately taken action. Here are some types of waste in manufacturing industry and service industry. Seven waste in the manufacturing industry can generally be identified as follows: 1. defect 2. Transportation waste 3. Overproduction waste 4. Waiting Waste 5. Waste Processing 6. Waste Movement 7. Waste Inventory The seven waste was developed by Taiichi Ohno (Toyota Classic Seven Wastes)

Service Value Identification as Implementation of Lean Sigma Principles in Service Industries

The success of six sigma practices depends on many things. One of them made a special product specifications are actually expected the customer. Core services in the service industry is a series of methods for doing everything from preparing invoices, receive calls, processing credit card applications, preparing meals and receive guests, to give lectures. Those activities are examples of services. Slightest form of service should we respond and provide the best and keep doing the evaluation and improvement. The best step to identify the value corresponding to the specifications of the customer is expected to answer the following questions:

Simple techniques to improve process performance

In making the improvement, project selection should not be something that makes significant changes. Simple things are sometimes overlooked. Yet the simple things is what will make a tremendous improvement if done consistently and earnestly, and oriented to change and continuous improvement. So also in implementing lean six sigma project, the basic manufacturing activities in a simple but very important is the habituation of the 5s, or can also be in its development into 6S (Sort, Stabilize, Shine, Standardize, Sustain and safety. After these basic techniques have been passed , then the next is continued improvement techniques, such as Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI), design of experiment (DOE), and others. Means of continuous improvement is an inherent part in the implementation of Lean Six Sigma in manufacturing and services industry.

Future State Value Stream Map Process

The design for the development layout should be considered since the company began to be built. Because of the increased capacity and changes in product trends will also determine the design of the plant. The most important development in the design layout process is to improve the Process cycle efficiency with due regard to the rationalization and simplification process, as well as the application allows the elimination of waste is all around production. Apart from production targets to be achieved, development should also design bias increases OEE (overall Equipment Effectiveness) through the reduction of downtime, reduction of defects, the implementation of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), decrease or shorten the lead time via reduce WIP (Work-In-Process) inventory followed by a balancing process takt time

Key Performance Measures

Several measures are used to determine the performance of lean six sigma in manufacturing industry: 1. PCE (Process Cycle Efficiency) = Value added Time/Total Lead Time 2. Lead Time (L/T) = amount of work-In-Processes/average Completion Rate 3. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) = Availability x Performance x Quality Availability = Operating Time/Planned Production Time Performance = Standard Cycle Time x Total Pieces)/Operating Time Quality = First-Pass Yield (%) = FPY Pieces / Total Pieces

Mapping Products

Mapping of production activities is very helpful to analyze the advantages and disadvantages in terms of the production process. The grouping of these products will help the improvement process. This mapping can be done individually each product family, product line throughout the value stream process, to identify value-added activities and non-added value is a waste of money. Groups that have value-added activities will be the basis of improvement and further developed to achieve optimal performance. In contrast, for the processes that are not detail the contributions and tend to “waste” for the production process immediately corrected and removed, so as not to cause problems persist.

The term Kaizen Blitz in Improvement

Previous article I mentioned about the Kaizen Blitz, but I have not explained about the term Kaizen Blitz. Kaizen Blitz is a method of increasing rapidly, usually done within one week, which made the process is limited, for example, work cell, or other work area. Kaizen Blitz goal is to use innovative ideas to eliminate waste or innovative activities to eliminate waste or activities are not value-added work. The results achieved through the Kaizen Blitz is: – Setup Reduction Time – Improvement Productivity – Process time reduction – Inventory Reduction – Walking distance reduction

Kaizen Blitz For Cost Reduction Efforts In Continuous

Performance improvement program for continuous cost reduction requires a commitment to improvement that involves aspects of human motivation and technological aspects in a balanced way. Kaizen is a Japanese term can be interpreted as continuous improvement. High spirits of Kaizen in Japanese companies have made them thrive and excel in various fields of life, especially in terms of improved quality and productivity.

Requirements for transformation in the CTQ

Requirements proposed by the customer becomes the basis for quality production. The quality of production must be controlled throughout the production value stream. Any possibility of bias makes defective must be standardized and made a point of critical of quality. For example, in terms of treatment of goods in the loading bay. If the raw material is fragile and requires special treatment, then every member should have training about the conduct of such material so as not to cause errors that affect product quality. Previous management company must make the standard treatment for raw materials.

Identification Product Manufacturing

In the lean-sigma concept, it is important to identify products that will be executed. Identification is done solely based on the customer’s perspective. Product with certain characteristics should be based on customer required qualifications. In addition to product design and spec accordingly, in general there are several things to do in order to implement lean manufacturing in the industry. Value of manufacturing products offered pertaining to the following matters: 1. The quality of the product in accordance with established specifications and agreed 2. Competitive prices compared with competitors at the same level of product quality 3. On-time delivery in accordance with the contract purchase 4. Services related to products, product delivery and after sales service 5. This specific case is determined by the customer or other agreements between manufacturers and customers to produce products that comply with the specifications..

Steps Lean Sigma Implementation

Lean Six Sigma is based on the 5P (Profits, Products, Processes, Project-by-Project, and People)

5P as the foundation of Lean Six Sigma should relate to each other: • Profits (profits) would increase if the products meet or exceed the Performance increasing needs and expectations of customers; • Products (product – the goods and / or services) will increase its performance if the mengh asilkan Processes that increase product • Processes will improve only when committed by an increase in the value stream, Lean Sigma Continuous Improvement projects (Project-by-project) • Projects will be successful if the People continuously improve learning and growth (learning and growth)

Six Sigma at Motorola

Motorola Six Sigma is a method or technique of dramatic improvement of the quality control and applied by the company Motorola since 1986, which is a new breakthrough in the field of quality management. Many quality management experts claim that Motorola developed Six Sigma methods and widely accepted by the industry, because management industry frustration with the quality management systems, which are not capable of improving the quality of the failure rate of zero (zero defects).

Motorola Concept

In general, the concept of quality management based on customer satisfaction. The success of a product can be seen from the customer response. Basically the customer will be satisfied when they receive the product they want in accordance with both the characteristics and usefulness. In the concept of six sigma customers expect the success of 99.99% is not a product defect and fault close to the “Zero”.

Understanding of certification and six sigma training

Certification is the examination process to determine whether an object has met the standards set or not, meaning that if there are objects that do not pass the certification process, then it can be interpreted that the object does not meet the standards. Six Sigma certification is evidence of the competence of a change agent in improvement programs such as Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma. This Six Sigma certification has different standards between one certification provider and another or from 1 consulting firm to other consulting firm. Internal certifications can also vary between companies. One of the largest providers of Six Sigma certification services in the world is the American Society for Quality or ASQ. The requirements of ASQ generally are that candidates must have 1 DMAIC project completed and must pass a written exam. Six sigma certification – either green belt or black belt – is the acknowledgment of an individual over the basic competencies held in performing remedial activ

Principles of Lean Service

The pursuit of excellence to achieve perfection (zero waste) through continuous improvement in radical (Radical Continuous Improvement).

Quality of Service Parameters

Several dimensions or attributes that need to be considered in improving the quality of services are: 1. Timeliness of services, which take into account is the waiting time and processing time, accuracy of service, relating to the reliability of error-free service. 2. Courtesy and hospitality to provide services, especially for those who interact directly with customers from outside such as telephone operators, security guards, drivers, administrative staff, cashiers, concierge, nurses and others. Image of the service industry services is largely determined by those companies that are at the forefront in serving the external customer directly. 3. Liability, relating to the receipt of orders and handling complaints from external customers. 4. Completeness, regarding the scope and availability of support services and other complementary services. 5. Ease of getting care, related to the number of outlets, number of serving officers, such as cashiers, administrative staff, the number of su

Implementation of Lean-Sigma in Service Company

Lean-Sigma is not only intended for the manufacturing industry, so the service industry has not found the format of the application of Lean-Sigma. In general, Lean Six Sigma improvement-oriented management system. So it is possible that once applied to service companies. Conceptually lean sigma can be applied to industrial / service companies because the emphasis is lean sigma improvement of the system by eliminating any waste in every process of production or service process in order to increase added value and to give satisfaction to the customer.

Basic Principles of Lean

Some basic principles of lean manufacturing can be described as below: 1. Identify the product (goods or services) based on customer requirements, or the customer’s perspective. In general, customers will want the quality of the goods or services premises superior quality, competitive price and timely delivery. 2. Value stream mapping process for any product or service. 3. Eliminate all the waste that is processed, ranging from the purchase of raw materials, production

Lean and Six Sigma Objectives

Based on some references can be concluded that; LEAN, its main goal is to expedite the process of production / services along the value stream (from raw materials, production processes and finished goods. There was also trying to eliminate MUDA (seven Waste). SIX SIGMA, the main target of improving the process capability to achieve superior value stream (Zero defect) and eliminate the variations or inconsistencies throughout the value stream.

The three main pillars of the Toyota Production System

By considering the house of Toyota, it appears that Toyota management system aims to achieve the Quality, Cost Delivery, through shortening the production flow and eliminate waste. To achieve these objectives Toyota management system has three main pillars, namely: A. JIT (just-in Time), which is basically intended to produce the necessary units in the required amount at the time it takes. 2. Human Resources, It is the main pillar that must be nurtured and held intensive and regular training to produce the human resource that is sensitive to change and able to innovate for continuous improvement. In addition, the resources are intended to improve performance and lean culture spread to all member companies. 3. Built-In Quality-Jidoka, Build quality should be carried out continuously and continuous through the automation of the machine, making the surgical procedure that does not allow an error occurs, control systems are adequate to assist the system in order not to get out of the exist

Think Simple, Superior Quality

Lean Sigma is not meant to do something big and make a significant overhaul. In terms of improvement priority is the target to be achieved. Achievement of targets should not be large, but more important is continuous and there’s always action at any time when there is a shortage of processing. Lean Six-Sigma means doing something simple, it’s easy and efficient as possible. But on the output it produces superior quality and service is very fast. It is cultivated as simple as possible so that any kind of work that will be applied to the process / production will be performed by a person or an existing member. Or if there is training, training does not require a long time. Lean Sigma needs to be established through planting of culture, metrics, policies, procedures, and lean-six sigma tools or technique.

Training is Recommended to Strengthen the Six Sigma Team

Here are trainings need to be followed by the instigators of lean manufacturing and six sigma in order to strengthen the team in making improvement. Perhaps this is part of the training-training that ever existed; 1. ISO 9001:2000. MBNQA, Balanced Scorecard 2. Lean Six Sigma Management system (5s, Kaizen Blitz, Value Stream Process Mapping, Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing/service, TPM, Design For Six Sigma) 3. Total Productivity Leader ship and Strategy Planning 4. IQF Six Sigma master Black Belt (SSMBB) 5. APICS Certified in production and Inventory Management (CPIM) 6. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Manager of Quality Engineer (CMQ/OE), Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB), Certified Six Sigma Blackbelt (CSSBB) 7. The Concept of Toyota House

Explanation House od Toyota as written previous article: Operational Stability means ensuring that the value stream has had a good working standard, high-quality products, processes with minimal waste, Total Productive Maintenance, and Supplier Involvement Human Resources, in this case building a lean culture to all the member factories / companies and form the character of the people who are highly motivated, highly skilled and flexible and have the vision to build the company into better and better.

House of Toyota

Lean Six Sigma is Radical Continuous Improvement

Lean is a term widely used in industry and manufacturing. Lean alone in the world of industry and product quality is a systematic and systemic approach to identify the processes, activities that do not have value, or also referred to as waste. Lean is done not only for a moment, but continues to eliminate non-value added activity to the stream of products (materials, work-in-process, output) and information system using tensile (pull system) of the internal and external customers for excellence and perfection.

Value Stream Process

The term value stream is a series of processes from suppliers, manufacturing processes, product delivery and distribution of goods or services. Value stream itself involves several business networks consisting of companies that supply raw materials or semi-finished, then the company and its partners for the delivery partners for the distribution of goods. Even this distribution companies have also long chains to form a sub-distribution, sub agents and so on. Companies incorporated in the value stream can be controlled by a single business management or a corporate network. A clear management control to the flow of goods must be considered in terms of quality. Starting from the flow of raw materials adan sig sigma lean implementation should be undertaken in earnest.

Lean-Sigma Enterprise

Lean concept was originally adopted from the Toyota management system concept developed extensively and thoroughly on a world-class companies, while the Sig Sigma concept was adopted from the concept of Motorola’s management system. Both together form a robust system with output quality and powermanagement terbagik incredible. So much attracted the attention of major companies in the world. The strength of these two concepts together or come along to the concept of Lean-Sigma. Lean goals is to create a smooth flow of product throughout the value stream (value stream process) and removes all types of waste. While the goal of Six Sigma is to improve process capability throughout the value stream to achieve zero defects and eliminate variation.

Build Quality Improvement with Lean Six Sigma

The Lean Six Sigma Quality Improvement

Six Sigma is a management strategy in a business which was first developed by Motorola and is widely used in industry, banking, manufacturing and so on. Six Sigma done to improve the quality of a production / output of a process shown to eliminate the causes of defective and error and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes. Six Sigma is used as the basis for quality management through statistical methods to build an organization of black belt, green belt and so on. Lean six sigma project has a target to lower the financial cost and increase product

Simple Line Graph for Analysis

Line Graph and Performance Indicator

Line Graph can show us the performance or the performance indicator of a process over time. Line graph is very easily understood by a layman though. For example, a graph of quality products from time to time. So that readers can immediately determine if the quality goes up or down between specified time interval. If the line tends to rise, it stands to reason that quality has increased, and vice versa when the line dropped it needs attention, do get improvement. If necessary when given the declining trend line in red to get more attention. Line Graph can show us the ongoing trend data, the performance standards which is the average of the existing statistical data, and estimated data to come. By looking at the trend in the management can take action quickly to the existing performance. Does it need to be done forcing the company’s performance, whether carried replace employees, whether conducted intensive training for employees to raise their performance, if necessary a thorough revamp

Steps of Resistor Manufacturing

In previous articles have described about the manufacturing process of the resistor. For more detai following describes the scheme of making resistors. With this scheme is expected to be more clear about the resistor manufacturing. From manufacturing process

Manufacturing Process of Resistor

Do you know the resistor? Yes, An electronic component that serves to inhibit the electric current. Or in more detail the electronic circuit is to divide the current into each of the other components in an electronic circuit according to the needs of electric current to the input required. Many businesses have different forms of resistor installed at their workstations as not all the machines require the same input of electricity to function. It is always good to compare business electricity while setting up a business as this is one such aspect which involves a lot of the capital from the business, thus finding an apt one which can help the business in many aspects must be one of the crucial steps every business owner must take while setting up their business. Also do you need to haul equipment from one place to another? Do you need to remove something heavy and awkward or do you need to haul electrical materials to your work site? We offer 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton pickup trucks, and 1 to

Lean Six Sigma for Customer Satisfaction

Managerial concept most popular in industry and manufacturing date is six sigma, or better known as the concept of lean six sigma.
